Rainwater collected and the apiary secured

A rain gutter and storage tank have been installed at the poultry house, and the first rainwater has already been collected. The area containing the ten beehives has been fenced. Swarm catcher boxes have also been placed in the nearby wooded area so that the apiary can be populated step by step. According to the local partner, coffee planting has been completed; banana and complementary tree planting is expected to be finished shortly.

Ten beehives and a nearly completed poultry house

The apiary has been equipped with ten hives, exceeding the original target of six. The poultry house is largely complete; remaining work concerns the floor and rainwater harvesting. Planting pits have been prepared and supplied with organic material.

Planting lines, spacing and soil protection prepared

After clearing the land, planting lines and spacing for coffee, bananas and complementary trees were marked. Preparatory work for the poultry house began at the same time. The land-registration process was initiated with the responsible Town Council.

Existing infrastructure assessed for school operations

The classroom, accommodation, kitchen, sanitation, water access and practical areas on the YWAM Arua site have been documented. The planned course can use the existing infrastructure and does not depend on the separate demonstration-farm project.
